My great grandfather, Thomas Gotobed McMullin, was a lumber baron here in Nova Scotia….living in Truro. His home, ‘The Cedars’ a 10 bedroom Queen Anne style home, can be seen at 43 Queen Street.  It was used as a hospital during WWII… it is now a 7 seven apartment ‘complex’ I believe……

Two small cannons from his barque JUNO still flank it’s front steps.

Fusion silk, various weights of copper wire, copper threads.

Each tree was created on a frame with a technique called chipping….hundreds of tiny purl pieces in four different types, smooth, rough, bright check, wire check.  Then they were cut out and applied to the silk shape.
